It might help to say which app you're using when denoising - a better chance of users of the same app chiming in.
Most commercial programs use AI for denoising, so perhaps looking at AI inference and data generation tests might be of some value.
That said, generic AI benchmarks might not...

I was wondering whether anyone here could share some raw files made with Sigma 18-250 OS HSM and 18-200 OS HSM.
I'm trying to decide between the Sigmas and the Tamron 18-270 PZD VC. I managed to find some raw shots made with the Tamron (and haven't been impressed) but none...

I cannot help with information about the refund, but watching the presentation about the new iPhoto made it seem like a fairly nice app. What is it about it that makes you unhappy?
There are step-up and step-down adapters available and they can be had for a few dollars if you would shop for them on eBay.
You could opt for a 72mm - 67mm step down adapter if the Raynox comes with a universal adapter such as the one they show on the 250's product page.

Perhaps using raw files and NeatImage, Noise Ninja or something similar to help with noise reduction would help you. It's what I use (RawTherapee, NeatImage and the GIMP) and I can usually complain about noise only when I take an underexposed shot at ISO 1600.
