    Honeymoon Trip

Thanks everyone, maybe I've described it badly but it's not a photography holiday, I just want to get the best photos I can get from the places we go see. I think I'll take both primes if I have space and leave the tripod.

    Honeymoon Trip

Hi, got my honeymoon to Hong Kong, Seoul South Korea and Japan coming up in may. I'm keen to take my 5d mk1 with me, but I've not got a great selection of lenses. I'm thinking would it be enough to take a nifty 50 and a 28mm f2.8 prime, travel tripod and filters. Reason I ask is i can't...

    Monthly Sko77y's Project

So...I've considered starting a project like this for the past three years, but never do and always "forget". So I'm starting this to encourage me to actually finish a project, rather than plan, accumulate and forget. Brief: Use my Product Photography Light Tent (used once I should add), to...

Full Frame Telephoto Lens - Motorsport

Thanks Chris, there was a car following it that had its headlights on, hence the odd lighting :) I thought so too, but played it safe with a "not squint" option, thanks for the feedback!

Full Frame Telephoto Lens - Motorsport

As promised, said I'd update with how I got on with the lens (maybe it'll help some others in the future). 70-200 on a FF camera worked out quite well, yes the extra 100mm and image stabilisation would have been useful and probably would have given me a much higher keeper rate, but the lens...

Full Frame Telephoto Lens - Motorsport

Hi all, wee update: Upon the initial recommendation to look into the Sigma 70-200 f2.8 from @andrewc. I managed to pick up a used example for £275 locally. Very nice lens but it's huge! Will be using it all weekend for automotive/motorsport, so will update a few examples and thoughts next...

Canon 5D MK I 'classic' - owners thread

I had a look for this at the weekend and couldn't see it?

    5D v 7D

For £500 you're not far off what you need for a second hand 5dmkii, owning a 5dmki it's a good camera but if you can get the mkii I'd go for that. Sounds like you've got all the reach you need so the extra zoom a crop offers isn't really needed, I know I'd want to be shooting in FF for both but...

Full Frame Telephoto Lens - Motorsport

Ok Guys, watched reviews on youtube, read reviews online, searched all the usual second hand lens outlets....and this is where I'm at, for everyone still reading my ramblings. Option #1. - Chop in all my lenses and get a Canon 24-105mm F4L - Cost me £300.00 Option #2. - Get the Tamron 70-300mm...

Full Frame Telephoto Lens - Motorsport

Thanks guys, enough here to go away and look into. My previous 70-200 F4 L seemed to give me a good enough range for Knockhill, but this is predominately for an impending visit to Driftland as media and trying to sort something out. THe lens will also get used for my static automotive work, so...

Full Frame Telephoto Lens - Motorsport

Looking at the lenses suggested, for the price of a tamron 70-300 vc you can get a non is canon 70-200 L. Zoom range isn't a huge issue, but lack of IS may be. Thoughts are, the tamron has the features but the Canon has the IQ. The f2.8 Sigma is just too much money at the minute.

Canon 5D MK I 'classic' - owners thread

All this talk of the 5d being outdated and here's me oblivious. Love my 5d, it's my only DSLR. Only thing really missing is Auto ISO, live view and video...but I'm not going to trade it in over that! Bought one after reading through this thread as well :D

gear and camera loyalty through the years

My Dad had a Canon camera when he was younger, when researching what DSLR to get I think that's all we looked at. Have used a friends Nikon and really couldn't get to grips with the layout, likely only a familiarity issue. My holiday walkabout camera is a Sony NEX-3N, when researching (now with...
