10 stop filter, equipment and location for shots

If cost is a factor have you considered a welding glass? Couple of quid and slides in the cokin filter holder perfectly. Check out the Welding Glass Shots thread to get an idea of the results you can achieve: http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=152480

Can anyone repair this image please.

I did a load of scanning and restoration, a few years back, on a load of old family photos. Bought a book... 'Digital restoration from start to finish'. Extremely happy with the results. And in the process it taught me a lot about photoshop.

    Our House project

Good sharpness and tone, though detail seems lost both in the highlights outside the window and the shadows on the dogs back. My personal preference would be for a little more space above and especially in front of his head - it would allow some room for us to follow his gaze a little. One...

Thank christ for eagled eyed - and real - photographers spotting the scam. Very entertaining read. :)

"this photo has been enhanced in photoshop"

Surely all photographs have some degree of pre and post processing. You decide what film speed/ISO, what aperture, what shutter speed. What lighting or time of day you'll utilise. Everything is a choice toward making an image that you want. Ansell Adams said "You don’t take a photograph, you...

    Perseids Meteor Shower tonight......12th Aug

Great pic Sam. :) You might be surprised by how many the camera picks up as opposed to the naked eye. I saw loads of meteors, but with a 28mm lens on a 1.6 crop sensor my images are of stars only, though more than I noticed at the time. None of the damn meteors crossed my lens' path, and...

    Perseids Meteor Shower tonight......12th Aug

I was sat in a darkened clearing on Sunday night with a nephew. In half an hour we saw one very bright and more than half a dozen smaller ones, so fingers crossed tonight should be fantastic... weather permitting!

    Jessops 360AFD Digital Flashgun

I have a Canon 450D and am looking at buying my first flash on a limited budget. I am thinking of buying the Jessops 360AFD Digital Flashgun - on sale at £79 at the moment. My limited knowledge suggests this would be a perfectly good first flash, though I'm hoping for a little advice...
