you usually have to use barn doors i think to stop the light getting in and just use the lighting to light the inside of the car.
but most of time they are done in the dark..
this set was done in a unit with all the lights turned off
i was aving major issues with my 603's in the past. miss firing etc not working right.
turned out to be the batteries even tho the led's are on they was playing up.
changed them worked spot on 1st time.
also make sure they are all on the same channel under the batteries?

i own a sigma 70-200mm 2.8 already its not the greatest but ill keep it i think.
and look at maybe getting something that lets me go 400mm ish.
will purchase a 1.4tc as well thanks for your advice

I may have managed to land my self a job with a media company that puts me on the right side of the fence..
Most of the talk on here is about using massive lenses as you can be far from the track.
if i am actually right next to the track will i get away with using a 70-200mm 2.8...

1st time light painting on my own with my own light source and was so happy with the results! just gave my self bit of confidence and proved i can improve on my skills
i always shoot in complete darkness so there is no stupid whitebalance etc to sort out . Ive done two black cars so far... you just need to make sure your light source is bright enough and use a decent diffuser
