see if you can pick up an L telephoto that's in rough nick? I've got a 70-200 2.8 that has chipped paint but works like a dream (was a bit over 500 though). You should get a warranty on the gear anyway if you're buying from a used dealer online.

I've had one since the week it came out. A couple of things I've found are that if you connect to the internet via WiFi at home and then leave the signal range, the internet goes off and you have to manually disable WiFi. Usually I just turn off and on. Friend stream also crashes unexpectedly...

I agree with this...mostly. I did use the higher burst rate for gigs though.

i'd recommend a 550ex...a bargain for a flash for nightclub stuff.
