Welcome to the forums Weifone!
I take loads of landscapes with my D5100 and most of the time I use the kit lens.
Here's one I took of St. Pauls recently.

I personally use compressed air cans. Then use a lens pen if it's really mucky. Obviously try your best to keep the lens clean in the first place but accidents do happen.
The air will blow off all the dust and debris, the lens pen only comes into use if there are finger prints and other...
I was referring to how you said you couldn't use it as a walk around, 35mm would be great, you should try it! :D
As for the Tamron they say the non VC is actually sharper. I've been looking at upgrading my kit myself and am looking at one of those.
A friend of mine owns the 28mm f1.8 and from what I see, many of his pictures come out quite soft. At first I thought he post processed them until I went on a shoot with him and saw them on his camera that way at 100% crop

I mainly shoot landscape...

Also as the SB600 is old now I was just wondering if the 3rd party makes could be just as good. Anyone here had any experience with using...
Hi guys, I'm really close to buying myself my first hotshoe flashgun.
I've been looking at a used SB-600 as I believe it will suit my needs. I think it's important to have TTL as I want to cover clubs and parties. Off camera flash will be useful too but not essential.
Then I stumbled upon...
