I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 but don't know how to use it to get rid of the shadow and leave a plain background. Can anyone advise me please?
I know the photo is not brilliant as it was taken on a cell phone.
I would like to blur the background on this shot to see how it looks but I dont know how to do it. Can anybody tell me please?
(Please feel free to play with the image)

Might hire a 10-20mm lens. (That is also on the list...
Between Liz & I we have 100-400L, 70-200L, canon 75-300 IS, Tamron55-200, Canon 100mm macro, two kit lenses and the two 50mm lenses. 2 tripods but only the onboard flashes. (Flashgun still on the list of things to get). Could hire a lens if needed.
