Thank you, after looking at reviews and videos I am leaning towards the 15-85 at the moment.

:D So I haven't had a DSLR for a while, in fact since 2007 when I sold my 20d + 50mm f1.8 + sigma 17-70 :( I have just purchased a 70d and 50mm f1.8 and I am in need of a walkabout / general purpose lens. From what I remember I liked the range of the 17-70 and never really desired anything...

i'll second that, and combined with the sigma 70-300 apo you will get a good versatile combination

yes i do but this has never happened to me, you could possibly try going - file - preferences - reset preferences - and tick the box reset workspace to default configuration that might work ??? maby

i just tried this one its not bad, very easy to use indeed!

i'll put another good word in for the sigma 17-70, if you can stretch to this you wont be dissapointed. i take 95% of my pics with this lens. even if you dont get a 50mm f1.8 now i would definately get one in the future
