The western end of the Caledonian Canal, the Corpath sea lock and Neptune's staircase locks are all well worth a look in. I was up there in the summer and got some really good shots. Saw Neil Oliver filming for Coast while I was up there too. He was on a sea going vessel comnig up the staircase...

How about Hartwell House? It is a beautiful 17th century stately home not far from you that is run as a restaurant / hotel. You could probably arrange something in their grounds - or even some interiors. If you want to come a bit further east then you could try Woburn Abbey

I spent my teenage years with my parents right on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. You always seem to appreciate the beauty of a place more once you have left. Still, it did inspire my love for photography...and my dad still lives up there so it is good to get out and about with a camera...

On the 10Mb package with them, and good so far since I got upgraded on that a few months ago. Been with them for what seems like ever! Service was intially atrocious when they took over from NTL...but things got sorted and now I would recommend them :)

The Grand Union Canal cuts inside the M25 between Watford and north of Heathrow...could get some interesting shots waterside with bridges and boats as tranquility meets urbanisation

If you're up at Ullswater I'd recommend Aira Force Waterfall down the south end of the lake...got some cracking shots there last autumn :)
