The western end of the Caledonian Canal, the Corpath sea lock and Neptune's staircase locks are all well worth a look in. I was up there in the summer and got some really good shots. Saw Neil Oliver filming for Coast while I was up there too. He was on a sea going vessel comnig up the staircase...
How about Hartwell House? It is a beautiful 17th century stately home not far from you that is run as a restaurant / hotel. You could probably arrange something in their grounds - or even some interiors.
If you want to come a bit further east then you could try Woburn Abbey
I spent my teenage years with my parents right on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. You always seem to appreciate the beauty of a place more once you have left. Still, it did inspire my love for photography...and my dad still lives up there so it is good to get out and about with a camera...
On the 10Mb package with them, and good so far since I got upgraded on that a few months ago. Been with them for what seems like ever! Service was intially atrocious when they took over from NTL...but things got sorted and now I would recommend them :)
The Grand Union Canal cuts inside the M25 between Watford and north of Heathrow...could get some interesting shots waterside with bridges and boats as tranquility meets urbanisation
