Thanks to you all for the advice and also @GyRob for doing that.
I only use Lightroom for editing my photos and tried using the noise reduction setting their but couldn't get it to look quite like you have with that other software.
I've switched to full manual mode on the camera now and am...
Hoping someone can point out to me what's most likely quite obvious with what I'm doing wrong and why some of my pictures are coming out very noisy looking.
The lens I'm using is quite new to me (Nikon 70-300mm) and I'm using a Nikon D3500.
I believe I was using the "Shutter priority" mode...
Well my new lens arrived today. Unfortunately no hood was included so would that one I linked to be an ideal choice or is there a better one?
Haven't had a lot of time to really test it out yet but I'm very impressed and happy with it. The focal length on it should allow me to get some nice...
Thanks guys, I've ended up ordering myself the 70-300mm Nikon lens and look forward to receiving it.
Is it worth getting a lens hood for it as well?
One like this?
Thanks for the detailed info and help :)
I have now also come across this Tamron 70-300mm lens, which is a fair bit cheaper than the Nikon 70-300mm I was first looking at.
I was just wondering if it's worth me getting it but it's actually the fact it is much cheaper that's making me think...
I've had my Nikon D3500 for almost a year now and so far have only had the included kit lens to take photos with, which to be honest for me has been a good lens and I think I've managed to get quite a few really nice shots with it.
But I think now is the time to purchase my first additional...
That's a very nice picture of a starling :)
I have a feeding station which attracts a lot of them, particularly the smaller birds, and of course the odd pigeon :D
We have a couple of regular robin's visit as well, and often they sit on the fence, and that's something I'd love to get a close up...
Cheers for the advice (y)
I spend rather a lot of time in our pretty decent sized back garden and the last few months I've developed quite a large interest in gardening itself, and I put that mostly on the fact I got my DSLR to begin with, as I have enjoyed getting up close macro shots of...
It was the AF-P one that I was looking at. Currently around £300 on Amazon.
Thanks for all of the suggestions and information so far.
I'm quite new to DSLR photography really so enjoy learning all I can, and at the moment in terms of lenses I find it a bit confusing looking at the many...
I’ve had my Nikon D3500 with its includes kit lens for a few months now and have thoroughly enjoyed using it.
I’ve developed a bit of an interest in capturing pictures of the birds, particularly around the garden and while the lens I have does a reasonable job I’d really like to be able to...
Thanks for the suggestions :)
I'm definitely going to have a look at some of them. Thetford forest is a place I have driven through/near plenty of times but I'm never sure where abouts is best to go for the views, like the ones on this page...
Lol! It's not that bad is it? I have managed to get a few nice shots in the past just from lay by's, but wondered if there were any places I'd not been to before to try :)
I'm located in the centre of Norfolk and wondered if anybody here knows some nice and ideal locations to get some good shots, particularly landscapes of the countryside?
I registered here some time ago when I got my first DSLR camera but never found the time to get in to it, and after a while ended up selling it.
However a few things have changed in the last few years and I've always had a love for taking pictures so decided to try again and just got myself...
