Is it just me? Am I the only one having problems with really ugly colour banding in Photoshop CC 2017? It's actually not just CC 2017 as I've been getting this issue for a long time.
At first I thought the problem was my camera but now I think it might be Photoshop.
I like taking landscapes...
I spoke with Adobe. They said they could resolve the issue. They could not. I then asked them to remove Photoshop CC2017 from my machine and re-install CC2015.5 and now Nik will not work with that either. They insist that Nik is causing the crash and that it is not compatible with Photoshop...
Hi,
Thanks for your replies.
I just tried again and found that it seems to be ColourFX pro that causes the crash. That's a bit annoying as that's the one I use most.

Hi,
I use the Nik Collection filters quite a lot, particularly when I'm working on Landscapes. I recently updated to CC 2017 and since then Photoshop just crashes whenever I try to use any of them. I looked on the Goolge forums and it seems I'm not the only one having this problem. The advice...
Hi
Thanks for the replies.
I never use sRGB for image capture or editing. The reason I don't is because it's the narrowest colour space. I have my camera set to Adobe RGB and when I'm in Photoshop or Lightroom I have everything set to Pro Photo. Once I'm done I may then convert to sRGB...
Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I figured out what I was doing wrong. I had the AF set to 'Tracking' and apparently the Level doesn't work in live view when that is on.
Thanks again.
SJ.
Hi,
I've been trying to figure out how to make the Electronic Level work in Live View mode on my 5DS. On my 5Dmk3 it works fine but isn't visible when I use my 5DS. Does it not work in Live View on a 5DS? If it does how do I make it appear?
Thanks.
SJ.
Hi,
I'm not sure what you mean by 'setting up' my lens. Do you mean calibrating it for accurate focus? It's already set up in camera for lens aberration etc.
It doesn't seem to be just when the camera points toward the light source. In most cases the light source is hidden. Plus in this image it's occurring in an area that doesn't have a particularly great distance between the brightest and darkest tone. It only seems to happen in areas of...
Hi,
Thanks for your responses.
I always shoot RAW fully uncompressed. I've had this problem with a 24-105mm f4 kit lens and a 16-35mm f4 lens. I usually shoot at f8. Here's a shot I took recently with my 5DS using my 16-35mm at f8 and 100 ISO. I did use a polariser on this shot but I still get...
Hi,
I have constant problems with ugly cyan and magenta banding in dark clouds or stormy skies. It's really hard to fix in post too because whatever I try just seems to make it noisier and more pronounced. I have had a Canon 5D mk2, 5D mk3 and now a 5DS and it has been a problem on all of them...
