I can't think of any reason in the days of cut-price equipment retail why anybody would contemplate buying a secondhand professional, and hence invariably well-used, lens that might have been dropped, kicked around etc. Buy the 24-70. I did.

The lens has a UV filter. The Camera's only had 5500 or so actuations so I'd assume it should be okay as its been well looked after. I had an old EOS600 which sat in the airing cupboard for three weeks to dry out! With a trip to Sri Lanka, not to mention wedding jobs, I'm hoping it works...

Just a thought: Does anybody have experience of image quality of these in comparison to each other. On pixels, then the DS Mk2 should give the better picture but the D Mk3 is 14 bit. Upon launch, Canon said that the "EOS 1D MK3 will give better image quality than any previous Canon camera."...
