Thanks a lot for all your responses guys.
At the moment i have only got the GIMP for my editing so im not sure how possible it will be to do all of these tutorials, although ive looked at them and they seem pretty useful.
Perhaps i would just be best investing in photoshop :thinking...
I love the texture that this guy gets in this photo, but im not really sure how to go about doing it when it comes to editing my photos.
Is it all down to PP techniques or is it just down to the original image.
Any help would be appreciated
There are a couple more like it on his flickr...
i quite like it. The exposure it good and i think the statue contrasts well with the wall behind it.
I do find the shadow a little bit distracting but thats only a minor criticism.

Ok here is my dilemma,
i currently have a D60 with the kit lens and a 50mm f1.8.
I feel like i have reached my limitations with the kit lens and have got a bit fed up of having to focus the 50mm manually. I think im missing good images because my focussing is sometimes slightly out...
Again thanks for all the replys.
Jay, thanks for the link. I will have a look at that now. I think i need to start brushing up on my pp techniques.

Andy your picture isnt showing up unfortunately
i think that for all the learning you can do from books/courses/online, nothing really beats just getting stuck in and trying new things out.
Well thats been the best way for me learning new stuff anyway.
as long as you dont take anymore photos you should be able to get them back quite easily, the more photos you take, the less photos you get back.
Thats pretty much what i got told when mine got deleted. Good luck
