Are there any carp anglers on here?

Oops sorry, wasn't bragging but that's seen as a tiddler compared to what anglers down south catch! Just love being out there on the bank rather than catching tbh. Really enjoying my time as a carp angler these days.

Carp angler here as well! Been at it, so to speak, since the 80's when I also started with my photography habit. Born and bred in the NW and only ever fished around these parts, don't get the France thing, so biggest is only 32lb. Had a few years hunting Barbel as well on my local River Ribble.

    Officiant ruins wedding.

I must admit that I sort of take his point but he should not of reacted that way. A quiet word would have been better and hopefully he will of learnt from that. Feel sorry for the couple.

    Taking your camera with you.

Always a tricky one for me as I have had my car broken into on a number of occasions. Fortunately I have never had my camera taken just cd's and a baby seat!! Every time I have any camera, dslr or compact, in my car I am always very nervous.

    Sony RX1 thread

Is this the future for cameras, FF compact? It certainly ticks a few boxes for me and when they produce one that you can change the lenses on I will be all over it.

New (used) car time - Which one?

Update, just sat waiting to sign for another focus. Nice tidy 1.8 zetec coming my way. Thanks for all the suggestions. See you on the road.

What music motivates you in the gym?

Recently been playing Matt Schofields new album. Very easy to get my stomp on the X trainer when blasting my lug holes with quality blues.

Locations not to miss in The Lake District?

I love it around Ullswater and the Glenridding area. Check out Aira Force waterfall, a nice little walk. Also think about a steamer trip across the lake. Not far from there is the Kirkstone Pass Inn, a weird but wonderful pub that does great food and a realy nice pint of porter. So much to do...

New (used) car time - Which one?

Interesting responses, I will have look at the Skoda for sure. Neil, I do about 30 miles a day to work and back on b roads so nothing special apart from a road known as Hoscar Moss where I like to take the racing line ;o)

New (used) car time - Which one?

I hate this time in my life when I need new wheels. The choice of which make and model is an important one because I hopefully going to be with it for 4 - 5years. I hate having to deal with salesmen especially when I have to trade mine in as well. I currently have a Ford Focus TDCI that has...

    Holiday planning

I was lucky enough to work on Santorini last summer for 2 weeks and it is a gorgeous island. I have visited many different Greek Islands and I love them all in different ways but Santorini was a great experience. I was there during July/Aug and it was incredibly hot as you would expect but...

Moving up to full frame, lens questions

Sorry can't be much help with the first 2 questions but with regard to the 17-40, just buy one. This lens is incredible on full frame and perfect for landscapes. Also, the 85 1.8 is perfect for portraits.

    your christmas dinner photos

I think I feel sick now I have just looked at this thread as I have stuffed myself rotten all day. Here's hoping I will not eat a bean tomorrow but I know for sure that it will be 'normal service resumed' as soon as I get out of bed. Why do we do it?
