Does anyone use Nd filters for outdoor portraits in bright sunlight when using flash? Just thinking if it is bright, max sync speed is 1/320 and for a shallow DOF I would use a wide aperture. All good when I can find shade etc. but not always possible for family shots with my 3 year old! Just...

Wanted to add that you can probably set your camera to take each photo as RAW+JPEG. Uses more card/ computer space but quicker to email or print straight from jpeg version.

I want to learn more about post-processing as currently just use iPhoto. I have bought a copy of PS Elements but don't really know where to start!! Is it better to just have a play around with it or are there are any good (short) courses to learn the basics?

Has anyone else had a broken battery door on their speed light? If so, do you know what tool you need to replace the door? Looks like a phillips screwdriver would work but it doesn't, so am thinking there must be a special tool.....

I think its something like double the focal length? So with my 50mm I wouldn't shoot handheld less than 1/100. Although tbh I shoot a bit faster because I need more practise with my handheld technique.
