I agree Photoshop Elements 8 is good if you find it. Version 7 is as good too. Go for it. Moreover, as stated by SpikeK6 lots of training material in magazine Discs that will help learning it faster.

Based on what I know you can upgrade no problem, chances are that you may loose the current data, maybe a backup would be wise prior to the upgrade.

IF you need a camera for the type of business you do, the set of lenses if they are all Sony brand most likely they are full frame, hence, the fit with the A900 in full frame. Otherwise it is a preference choice based on need and feel.

I fully agree with you evo456 but since I was buying this as a gift for a Canon user, and due to my limited knowledge in that brand, I had my doubts. You are right the Carl Zeiss does not have the red color characteristic.
