Ha, luck of the draw and more of a challenge as Toni says. ;) Apologies are unnecessary, especially when you're graciously taking the time to run the whole thing.

    DPOTY26 - Chat thread

I wish this had been a theme later in the year as we have several local vintage car shows but they aren't about until the late spring/ summer.

    Lens/Camers storage - Dry Cabinets

Same here, I've bought many a film era lens with mild fungus at a fraction of the normal price. As long as its not right in the middle of one of the rear elements more often than not it either has no discernible effect on the end image or can be cleaned without too much effort. If it doesn't...

    Lens/Camers storage - Dry Cabinets

Sadly that is not an option for some, living in the fens our house is terrible for seasonal humidity and temp fluctuations (its ancient with out of date insulation , retrofitted heating and double glazing the house was not originally designed for). Throw in some dust and its the perfect...

    Lens/Camers storage - Dry Cabinets

Probably less so with weather sealed kit but I suspect even that could be susceptible to fungus or other temp/ humidity related problems if the conditions are right(wrong). Having lived in deserts, the tropics and everywhere in between the typical home varies.

    Lens/Camers storage - Dry Cabinets

I keep mine in a couple glass fronted cupboards with a small clear tub of colour changing silica beads on every other shelf and a hydrometer/ thermometer at the top and bottom of each cupboard. They normally sit at around 50-55% humidity and around 19-22C through the winter and similar humidity...

I assume it has a fan as I can hear a fan sound when it is turned on. I have never had an overheating problem either and I use it for biiiiiig focus stacks so lots of shots in fairly quick succession. I didn't realise this was the case but there are 2 variants of the MS300, the MS300'V' has a...

That's what I have but you can also use Nikon versions of the x1, x2, x3 or x-pro2 triggers. Any of those will work with that strobe, some are a bit cheaper and or have slightly different features/ configurations.

Sorry that link takes me to the US Amazon front page but no product. Any of the Nikon specific x series triggers will work. https://www.godox.co.uk/godox-x-pro-series-transmitter.html?srsltid=AfmBOooAj_7iSKRHg6ltPBJg3LJwl9r6ITdolFfIW-fnIJZ4IVpmD_4c

That's the one I have, a decent basic strobe although you would need a godox x system wireless trigger like an xpro-n or x1n

I only suggested the ms300v as it's cheap and the integrated 2.4ghz wireless connectivity makes it easy to control from the camera/ trigger. Plus adding more lights into the system later on would be a dawdle as long as they are also godox/ 2.4ghz compatible. The esprit and smartflash are...

Don't know how it compares to other models but I use a godox ms300v studio strobe. You can pick one up with a basic soft box, standard reflector and stand new for around £120-30 on eBay. Paired with a used wireless trigger you're looking at around £150 all in. It doesn't have all the bells and...

I get what you're saying. When I mess about with tabletop stuff my usual go to is a 55mm for really small stuff or 90mm for slightly bigger (both flat field low distortion macro lenses) . I prefer flat field lenses so if a subject is on the edge of a frame it doesn't suffer from the...
