Cheers, interested to try the camera with the op-tech wrist strap.
m5 looks good also. Can any owners report how much (if at all) snappier it is in real usage vs the original m? Review I read was mixed.
Did you go for a 50mm in the end? Reckon a reasonably priced 50mm is a nice item to have and would make sense as a next addition / upgrade to your kit. In a similar position bought a cheap canon 50mm for my setup and was pleased with the results, ideal for shallow DoF portraits as others have...
Just to second @Julian Elliott plenty of opportunities in Lyon, visited a few years ago. As well as to old city, churches etc can also recommend the Roman ruins on the hill.
Did you use the optech item linked with one of their wrist / neck / sling straps? Assume it's too short to use as a strap on it's own.
Might give ML a go at some point.
Hope this is the right place for general eos-m queries. Need to make more use of my original eos-m, seems currently either use the dslr or make do with the ever present iphone. To this end wondered
-What straps are people using? Gone down the (swappable) sling & wrist strap route with the dslr...
Went through this exact process. Had issues with my old 350d body, probably fixable but fancied an upgrade.
Initially went for an eos-m which whilst good in it's own right wasn't really a dslr replacement in many ways imo.
Recently picked up a used 60d for not much outside your budget and it is...
Use icloud for phone images and it works quite well across various devices. Can see it might be frustrating if you tried to use it with (for example) images catalogued by Lightroom.
Hah, yes I'm sure it would. My macbook is core2duo so well behind the curve. However have a SSD and decent amount of memory so it works well enough. But it's all justification for an upgrade regardless...
Feedback appreciated. Tried the (old) macbook with an old external monitor and it does make using LR much easier. If moving to a 15" screen isn't going to be a massive win I'll put off the upgrade and go with the external monitor route.
If only the macbook had a decent dock solution.
Good point and probably something I might have made clearer in my original post.
Prefer if possible to process and edit the images on the laptop screen whilst sat on the sofa etc. However if the 15" screen won't be much better than the 13" may indeed go down the route of an external monitor.
Previously used an old windows laptop with a reasonably sized display for LR / editing.
Subsequently went down the macbook pro route with an old 13" dual core machine. The machine still works ok-ish with a SSD and 8gb of ram, however do find the 13" non-retina display not that great for any...
The internet is awash with guides for repairing this particular Canon lens but the main focus is on the ribbon cable which seems to fail. Had this fix completed by canon 3 years ago under their fixed price scheme which was at the time a fair £52.
Now the lens struggles / refuses to focus - it...
