    Sony v Nikon v Canon

I have the a700 and wouldnt change it for anything (except maybe the a900 :) ) Checked through all the different types, but decided on the 700 as the best for me. It all depends on what you want.

    Looking for a huge favour

Did you ring/write to the admissions tutor and tell them that it was down to the teacher that you missed the deadline? If you explkain to them not only about missing the deadline, but also about what you hope to do for the enforced year out, they will realise you are serious about your chosen...

    macro lens for sony alpha

Wow those are amazing - and just the kind of thing I'd like to be taking myself. Anyone used the sony version? How did you find that one? I might have the chance of a used sony, which would cost less than a new one; just need to compare the two really.

    macro lens for sony alpha

Have been looking to get a macro lens for my sony. Does anyone have any views on the sony 100mm macro, or the sigma 105mm? Or should I be looking at the 50mm? Thanks for any comments.

What is it with Parents scowling at photographers?

That doesnt make everyone a paedophile, just because it happened to someone close to you; especially not everyone with a camera.

What is it with Parents scowling at photographers?

No it isnt - and I speak as a mother and foster parent. I would air on the side of caution and say that togs all are when it comes to my child rather than no one is and let just one pervert slip through the net. It's 'err' not 'air' and your position is both untenable and disgusting.

What is it with Parents scowling at photographers?

While not condoning real paedophilia in any way whatsoever, I feel I must protest at this post. First, if someone takes a pic of your child and uses it in an unpleasant way in their own home, for instance, what harm is going to come to your child from that? None at all as far as I can see...

Social workers are something else - if they only did the actual job they were paid for perhaps there would be less of this P**** mania

What is it with Parents scowling at photographers?

As a further indication as to how the country is going.... We have a police video (hand held for the moment) due to having had some trouble lately. Well this afternoon I had occasion to use it. I went outside and videoed a youth standing on my garden wall and he shouted at me to turn the...

What is it with Parents scowling at photographers?

Can someone explain why people have 'concerns'? Im not having a go - I'd like to understand the reasoning. The nature of my day job means that 99.9% of my clients are men. Every day, I have to listen to them complaining to me that someone somewhere has suggested/hinted/outright accused them...

    new here and amazed

Yes it is - the only danger being you could spend more time on here than actually taking photos

The best place to hide something is out in the open! The police might be less inclined to think someone is a terrorist if they are taking photos openly, therefore simple answer - ban all photo taking.

Did anyone get this months issue of "Professional Photographer"

If it's a 'pull out' then it should be in the centre of the magazine, stapled to the rest of the mag, like a centre section. Will look when I go into town shortly.
