Calling all Sony Alpha users! (Part 5)

Exactly, and the e-mount doesn't have as many lenses as Olympus does. Yes you can buy an adapter but it's not the same.

Calling all Sony Alpha users! (Part 5)

As far as mirrorless goes, Olympus has IBIS, and smaller lenses. I think it's the IBIS that gets me. Sorry for the short reply; I'm on the road and can give a better reply tonight.

Calling all Sony Alpha users! (Part 5)

At this point I'm seriously considering jumping ship to Olympus. I love my Sony to death, but the Olympus system seems more comprehensive and has better direction. My Sony a330 is so long in the tooth I just need to upgrade, and now is as good a time as any. I've been reading up on m4/3 and...

Calling all Sony Alpha users! (Part 5)

I have the kit 18-55, 35mm 1.8, 50mm 1.8, and 75-300mm. I won't need a long range zoom like the 75-300 as I've only used it once in the past year.

Calling all Sony Alpha users! (Part 5)

THIS is what's calling to me now... I've been researching m4/3 a bunch recently trying to figure out if it's worth switching over from an APS-C size sensor. As of now I haven't really found any reason not to switch, except that bokeh isn't quite as nice from a m4/3 as from a regular DSLR. I love...

Calling all Sony Alpha users! (Part 5)

Is it true that Sony might pull the plug on its cameras? I am trying to decide whether to stick with Sony or jump ship to something else. Don't get me wrong, I love Sony, but they don't seem to have an aim, and the upgrade path would be difficult if they stopped making cameras OR continued...

Confused ahead of a Sony upgrade.

I've been wondering the same thing myself. I can't afford the upgrade now, but have also started looking to see what's new. If the a5x range is the entry level, then what's mid-range?

    Photographer Or Artist?

I've been thinking about this too much, as I've run into a small dilemma. If someone asks me what I am, I'll still tell them I'm a photographer, not an artist. Does that make me a photographer and not an artist if that's how I refer to myself? Or is it only an expression of being artistic, as...

    Image edits: Before & Afters.

I hope this turns out to be a good thread, as it not only talks about photography but also applies it. I'll definitely keep on eye here.

    Photographer Or Artist?

I like this one too. I cast my lot with the artists... we'll see how things turn out for me!

    Photographer Or Artist?

I love this, and think it's pretty much true. People can argue exceptions but I think this is generally true. And thanks to this, I place my vote.

    Photographer Or Artist?

So what do you call yourself? Every child can pick up a paintbrush and paint and call it art, he may even say, "Look Mom, I'm an artist." And it may very well be true because he is working at the limit of his potential. Then take one of us. We create a photograph (generally considered art)...

    Photographer Or Artist?

I can see them crawling out now...:gag: Shall we attempt to put them back in the can?
