    Dear Photographer

If every cat picture vanished of the face of the earth (except one for scientific record) it could never be construed as a bad thing. Oh yeah and the same goes for flower macro

    Nikon d3 for £2100 - worth it?

Well i sold mine for £1500 and a Canon 5D so thats proabably about £2,200 at todays 5D prices. I saw one go on ebay for £2000 with about 20 on the shutter! However i would say that thats a pretty good price. My main question here is why someone at a local camera club feels they have reached...

Do you consider yourself a photographer?

I would say this guy is right. As i earn my total living from photography i would say i was a photographer as my profession. If someone asked you about your hobbies perhaps you would say i enjoy photography or i like running not i am a photographer or i am a runner. I just sounds wrong! I...

    D700 or 5D Dilemma!

What would be your primary use for the camera, is probably the best thing to ask? Having used both the 5D and D700 extensively i would say aside from the cost D700 would take my side. - Faster FPS - Much better build quality and weather sealing - Better iso performance (the 5D's Hi setting is...

Now it's the Metropolitan Police ©

True matt but my point was that the police shouldn't be using laws in that way. If they had genuine reason to believe those involved were doing wrong they should use the correct section of the law to punish them. The point i was making is the police shouldn't use the terrorism law in...

I hear that lots of Essex based traveling families plan terrorist attacks under the guise of a traditional wedding party ;)

Street Challenge: Finished. 340+ Images :)

Wedding Hack your work is excellent, have you ever shot anything like this before? There really is some standout work in those photos posted. Completely disagree with the comment about that balls brothers photo. The composition is spot on. How would it be a photo atall if they filled the...

    Street Photography: Nailing it.

Also just before i pop out the most current photograph in the HCSP pool at time of writing is from a guy called Kramer oneill. Brilliant book 'until human voices wake us'. Check his flickr set of the same name. Really pushing the boundaries of 'street photography'. Alot have described it as...

    Street Photography: Nailing it.

Thats the problem with telephoto it compresses details and makes you feel detached from the situation be it subconscious or conscious. I challenge anyone to find a critically acclaimed/respected street photographer that shoots street on a telephoto lens.

    Street Photography: Nailing it.

Like the vids Pete the Gilden one is a fave of mine really like his work and approach. The stuff shown in the video isn't his best but some on his magnum profile really is fantastic. This slide show he produced for Magnum in motion really impressed me, shows hes equally apt at other things...

    Street Photography: Nailing it.

In my opinion you should walk on by! Why even bother taking a photo of the same land mark from exactly the same location and angle as everyone else! It makes me cringe when groups of people (some with half decent cameras) stand in a tight knit group taking a generic picture of a tourist land...
