Thats the problem with telephoto it compresses details and makes you feel detached from the situation be it subconscious or conscious. I challenge anyone to find a critically acclaimed/respected street photographer that shoots street on a telephoto lens.

In my opinion you should walk on by! Why even bother taking a photo of the same land mark from exactly the same location and angle as everyone else! It makes me cringe when groups of people (some with half decent cameras) stand in a tight knit group taking a generic picture of a tourist land...
