You don't say which features you want, but have you considered the original A7 ? You could pick up an A7 & the 24-70 F4 which would roughly be the equivalent of your old 17-55 2.8, plus you'll appreciate the constant aperture. This would give you great quality for the majority of your shooting...

They tend to be very similar, I'm just running with Nik at the moment. I wouldn't mind suggestions as to a decent plugin for film styles.

Good to hear. Remember to leave the router plugged in & on all the time, my in-laws were unplugging every night & their isp monitoring thought it was dropping out so kept throttling back speed til it was at a crawl.

Great example of compression. I have a Nikkor 200mm f2 but if yo don't like the idea of the weight of a 70-200 then you best give it a miss.

Nik is very good and the built in masking for effects can give very natural looking results. Bear in mind that Nik is no longer under development though, so no upgrade route down the line.

Just a quick point to consider... try and get a tablet with the same aspect ratio as your main editing monitor. Getting the hand eye coordination right takes a little practice, but is much more natural if the tablet is the same shape as your screen. Ive just upgraded from an intuous to a Cintiq...
