    Beginner Stock Photo Database?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone used a sort of self-built database (in Access or something) to record which photos they've submitted to a stock agency, which agency, when submitted, why rejected (!) etc, etc. I suppose there might be a way to utilise functions in existing photo software, or have a...

    Will less really become more?

I recently bought a photo mag, the first for years, in the hope that I would be inspired by some of the contributors. After I got over the shock of the price, I was quite disappointed with the content. 95% of the images appeared to be so manipulated and post-processed as to lose any sense of...

Had a crack at street photography

Love the shots, especially the tube train. Could you tell a beginner what camera settings you used, please??

    Beginner Rejected stock images

Thanks. I must try to remember that not every photo needs to be a masterpiece as long as it's properly exposed and in focus. Somewhere out there is a canteen manager looking for a photo of a plate of fish and chips!

    Beginner Rejected stock images

Just a final word. I submitted the photo to Shutterstock as editorial content and had enough room in the description to mention that it had already sold twice. Accepted!!

    Beginner Rejected stock images

Hi. Thanks for your comments. This is the photo in question. I know it's really rough, but as I said above, it has been used commercially already. You tend to misjudge distance easily in the mountains, and I stood there thinking, "I wonder how far those rocks are going to bounce?!" They were...

    Beginner Rejected stock images

I wonder if anyone has any comments/suggestions regarding the following. I’ve just got a camera decent enough to consider submitting some photos to a stock site, namely Adobe Stock. But .... I have a photo taken some years ago which I know is saleable, but is not of a sufficient quality to be...

    Ay up me ducks!

    Ay up me ducks!

Hi, and thank you for your welcome! I got the camera with the AS-S DX Nikkor 18-140mm kit lens. I believe kit lenses are not ideal, but I don't presume to be a professional, or even a gifted amateur come to that! I sort of dabble with a lot of subjects. I like landscape photography, urban -...

    Ay up me ducks!

Yes, I’m from Nottingham! Have had cameras for donkey’s years but can’t say I’ve improved much. Just bought a D7500 with my wife’s permission on condition that I learn to use it properly and take more photos. Hoping you can all fire my imagination. My life is in your hands!
