What are people's thoughts on the grey market area websites?

Have used Panamoz, no probs. Gear comes with 3 yr UK warranty. Had the ubiquitous Nikon D750 shutter issue. Returned to Nikon UK for free shutter replacement and it came back with a gratis service, including sensor clean.

    New PC

Thank you so much for the additional advice. It's probably become rather apparent that I'm not too clued up on all this stuff, so everyone's collective input has been invaluable, thank you. So, I need to upgrade the PSU and storage on my PC Specialist example. Yes, it did cross my mind that a...

    New PC

I have just done this on PC Specialist and would appreciate your views on the following: Am I working along the right lines for 4k video editing and running After Effects? Before my original post I had considered the Ryzen 9 but thought that was too much overkill so went for the 5 but am now...

    New PC

Thank you so much for taking the time to offer advice, guys. I have been pondering on and off for a couple of months whether to do a self-build, but will probably not go down that route due to available time...along with a dose of self-doubt! I will certainly check out PC Specialist and CCL.

    New PC

Good morning, I need to update my ancient and very slow pc. I currently use Photoshop and Premiere Elements, which aren't particularly demanding on my current system, but I intend to progress to Premiere Pro and After Effects. I see that After Effects, in particular, is very demanding on RAM...

    DIY Xmas Cards

Like :) We recently spent a couple of hours attempting to create a Christmas card photo featuring our grandchildren. We had tinsel and stuff and our two little darlings (aged 1 1/2 and 3 1/2) and...no final image lol. When one was cooperating the other wasn't and vice versa! We will be giving...

    DIY Xmas Cards

Yes, we have received the prints back, my wife has the card and today we sat at the pc fumbling away at the printed 'Happy Xmas' inserts, trying to get them centred etc. And the outcome? We both said that this could easily become part of our Christmas build up from now on :)

    DIY Xmas Cards

Thank you everyone for the additional replies :) Well, while I have still been pondering whether to go my route of printed cards or my wife's route of sticking prints to folded cards, she has been out and bought a batch of folded cards and is awaiting the prints. That's me told then lol

    DIY Xmas Cards

Thank you for your suggestion, Nod. It's interesting how things go. My wife suggested doing our own Xmas cards a year ago, so I took relevant photos last Christmas. With this I mind I posted the above question based on the assumption that we'd be getting them printed and ready to go. As it...

    DIY Xmas Cards

Good morning, I would like to create my own printed Christmas cards this year, using photos I have already taken. Could I please have recommendations for companies that do this. I have looked at Vistaprint but would like a wider range of companies to consider. Many thanks Rob

Help with getting a 16x9 ratio image printed and framed

Loxley Colour, whom I have no hesitation in recommending, do 30x20 but also give you the option to contact their customer services team if their extensive list of sizes does not contain the one you want. https://www.loxleycolour.com/prints/prints-mounting/photoprints#sizes

    Payment from newspapers

As above, without a shadow of a doubt. A quick heads up: If they're like my daily local they'll try and claim that they have no budget to pay you but will credit you and this will lead to oodles of other work. Mine tried that on me. I politely declined and guess what? Yep, they suddenly found...

    70-200 F2.8 Conundrum

My kind of philosophy, that (y) It outweighs by far any logical arguments I have put.
