    Thank you very much andyred. I hadn't thought about upgrading my kit lens, i did think that perhaps it would be a bit wasteful to replace something which seems to do the job ok. My budget isn't huge and i don't mind spending £150 on a lens i just figured that the widest aperture for the money...
