    Unusual lens problem

Consider my wound salted! How much did that set you back? That seems to be the best option in terms of wide open sharpness from a vintage lens. Did you get it from eBay? It's not the adapter, I did some research and it turns out (as was said above) the bokeh monster doesn't play well with the 5D.

    Unusual lens problem

b****r. Ok, well mystery solved. Thanks chaps. I'll have to track down the f/1.4 I'm after for my vintage lens fix.

    Unusual lens problem

Sorry you're right, I wasn't clear - I had people in my ear whilst I was writing it. Pentacon 135mm f/2.8 on Canon 5D II. M42 with a miscellaneous adapter to EOS - it worked on my 550D. I don't have an alternative unfortunately. I will get an example shot up later. It's a perfectly straight...

    Unusual lens problem

Like many of us, I love old camera gear. Included in that, I love vintage lenses. A few years ago I bought a Pentacon 135mm f/2.8 - the 15 blade bokeh monster - and used it happily with my 550D. I am currently on the hunt for vintage f/1.4 glass and it reminded me of this lens and so I dug it...

Creativity - a learned skill or "you're just born with it"?

Two of my favourite quotes in this thread, albeit only one about photography. Philip Larkin and Ansel Adams are always sources for wise words. Some absolute knowledge bombs being dropped in this thread. (y)

One Persons Top Shot is Another's Average capture!

Thanks Bill. Welcome to the 'I think this shot works' club, you've just doubled the member count. It's nice to have some company if I'm honest. :D

    How to copyright photos?

The 'prevention' section of this (my) guide might be of use to you. These discussions tend to (as this has started to) kick off a bit with people vehemently disagreeing with each other and it becomes difficult to see the wood from the trees. I hope it helps.

    Google+

Thanks for the follows guys. I'm following back. I tell you what, I did some manual testing today with keywords and Google searches. My articles that I link on Google+ usually out rank the direct article by quite a few results. I didn't realise how good G+ was for Google search climbing. I'm...

One Persons Top Shot is Another's Average capture!

When it comes to photography I think there's often 2 categories; shots that some like and some don't - those numbers can vary on each side and shots that are almost unambiguously 'great'. The first category is an image that people like but is much like what you describe. Some people will think...

    Google+

I have created a personal one and one for my website. I have to agree with the above - I've seen few benefits outside of page ranking. However, that is enough to warrant me using it. They offered me the 'proper' url registration very early on which was nice. I'm not sure how I feel about the...
