Amazed at big difference in price...

Because I'd like to support my local retailer and I'd like to collect the items myself from the shop. Jessops don't offer the D5000 with the 18-105mm VR lens as a 'kit' so I went for the nearest thing which was the Sigma 18-125mm.

Amazed at big difference in price...

I've just been comparing prices between Jessops and Warehouse Express and couldn't belive the difference in prices. I put together similar 'kits' on both sites and there's almost a £140 difference. Here's what I put together. Warehouse Express Nikon D5000 + 18-105mm VR lens Sigma 70-300mm...

Settings Guide - Is there such a thing

I haven't seen anything of the like, but tbh, there's never a set guide to anything about taking hpoto's because every situation is different. I do a bit of motorsport, so here's a few 'base settings' you could use. Shutter speed - 1/250 ISO - depends on light, but 100/200 in bright sunlight...

    Silverstone Poll!!!

Agreed, some of the views at DP are better, but thats down to the terrain of the circuit, it's just a shame for British motorsport that the facilities have been left to fall so far behind those, the likes of Silverstone and Brands Hatch. Maybe MSV (owners of several UK circuits including...

    Print sizes?

I know how DSLR's show it's picture size in pixels, but how does that translate into the actual print size? I'm getting a Nikon D5000 and the largest image size is 4288x2848 pixels, but what does this translate to in print size and how much of the image quality would I lose if I wanted to print...

    Shooting in RAW

Not sure if it's the standard one they offering, it's normally £169 but if you buy with any DSLR its £119.Tamron 70-300mm F4/5.6 DI LD Macro (Nikon AF) Although for £149 there is this Sigma Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG Macro (Nikon AF Including D40/D40x) or this Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO Macro...

    Canvas Prints - Silly Question

Two nails at same height and hang it from the frame or 'no more nails' and never be able to remove it.

    Silverstone Poll!!!

Silverstone is way over and above what Donington Park could ever offer. I've been a marshal at both and would pick Silverstone over DP any weekend. Everyone at DP needs to wake up and smell the coffee if they want to start attracting the 'big-time' events back again. Even the BSB considered...

    Shooting in RAW

Well I went into Jessops and had a look at the 1000D and the D3000, but neither felt 'right' in the hand, I then tried the D5000, and although the width isn't really anything different, it's a bit deeper and higher and felt much more comfortable in the hand. The question is now, wheather I buy...

    Shooting in RAW

I will deffo go into J'ops and have a 'look and feel' and see if it helps me decide because at the moment, I'm like this.... I like the Sony for the tilting screen, but as I already use a Canon the 1000D I could still use my 35-80mm lens. And as for the Nikon, that's got the bigger screen of...
