All, I have recently completed the Diploma run by the Blackford Centre gaining a distinction. Prior to doing the course I had only a little experience of photography.
I am a person who needs some direction, this course gave me that. The actual content of the course did not learn me a great deal...
Phil,
I know it was a genuine question- you live in Yorkshire ;), and I did nt mean to come across as defensive. I value the time you and other forum members put in to advise others. I will heed advice and keep clear of the said organisation. Going to trawl the net and see what networking I can...
Phil,
I am not naïve and I understand I have a lot to learn, my thoughts on "mentoring" were more down the line of building a professional relationship with someone far more talented than myself that could guide me on where I am, and what I need to to get where I want to be. I am happy for my...
Hi,
Having dabbled in photography for a good few years, mainly in wildlife and sport I have found I quite like photographing people.

regards
Steve

Only you will decide, and its difficult.
Steve

Advice required. Later this year I am going to Canada for several weeks. The main aim of the trip is bears and eagles, and some landscape stuff. As weight and space will be a premium I am in the market for a strong but light tripod that folds down small enough to go in my backpack. I will want...
