    Looks like it was an issue with the battery, i was using a 3rd party one and it was registering as full. Took it out popped in an official nikon one and all is well again

    Why won't my nifty fifty auto focus??

    what kind of camera do you have to start with? if its a d40/d40x or a d60 then your nifty wont autofocus so its time to start training the rabbit to sit still if so

    i do a bit of band photography and i try to stay away from using flash it kinda kills the feeling of the pictures. Use a nifty 50 and dont be afraid to shove your way through the crowd to get some good shots :)
