That is a truly inspiring story. In a tie in with another thread, I think that in this story are the marks of a pro. Many togs would have just upped and left, but you saw both the opportunity to help in a troubled situation and also keep shooting, rewarding you with a unique photo set! Finally...
I had one of these a while back. I replied asking what the site would be, what the exact usage would be and whether I would be cited. I thought just to play the game I wouldn't mention money at that point. I never received a reply ;)
It does indeed depend on the quality of the router. A lot of the time the ISP's tend to ship some pretty poor ones like Thomson cheapo models. It also depends how open to the air you keep them of course. But I have also seen some rather expensive ones do this. A client of mine (a commodities...
That's what I mean - I don't want to be enslaved to the digital darkroom when I can have the camera get me most of the way in the first place. I'm not big on digital editing, I normally just clone out any obvious nasties, a little skin smoothing and dodging and burning plus the standard...
Ps I've posted this in general photography on purpose, rather than equipment, as I don't want it to be seen as a dissection of equipment settings just a general out of the camera thing, much like different film types give different qualities.
To all, I am well aware that the best black and White results can be achieved by shooting raw and converting afterwards, manipulating the colour levels etc. But I am becoming more and more of the impression that canon slr's seem to produce a much more satisfying tonal range and a certain, well...
I've worked in IT for more than a decade. I agree that you should leave the router on as much as possible. Turning it off each day is going to cause problems eventually. One other common issue of doing that is freeze/thaw. I.e. that by constantly warming up and cooling the circuitry, you will...
Update - delivered the photos and they were extremely happy with them. So now I'm happy :) Sad about their situation but glad I could provide some good memories of their special day...
I find that a black background and low-key makes for nice moody actor-style headshots. You can use a desk lamp or even window light with a reflector for balance, don't even need a flash gun then!
Almost forgot - took this within the first month of owning my first DSLR - Nikon D40 with non-VR 18-55 Kit lens. Goes to show what you can do with a 'basic' lens!

As a part-time Jessops employee, y the 500D twin kit is still available. Although the lenses are at the cheaper end, I am often pleasantly surprised at the results that can be had. The Canon twin kits are normally a sign that a particular camera model is on its way out. You can normally tell...
I did indeed. It is irrelevant, however, they are being used for business purposes, have been transformed and have not carried over the licensing details nor named the author. Thus they are still in breach of the license.
What troubles me is how Flickr ended up not set on ARR. When I first set...
Just found two more sites that have my image...
One of them has at least credited me, but completely missed the CC non-attribution notice...

Just tried this for the first time. Lo and behold some American "personal growth" commercial site has had one of my photographs (absolutely no doubt) since 2009! It was blagged off Flickr where it had the most stringent CC license set...
Thank you to all for your useful comments - it's interesting to see the suggestions you've made. Many of the things you all mentioned I did do, this is not my first wedding and I am reasonably switched on and able to change with the situation, but of course it's not always easy to get that all...
