    Portraiture Book

Hi, I would like some book recommendations for family / children portrait photography. I’m not so worried about a detailed description of the lighting set-up which was used to create the shots; I’d prefer a book which is full with lots of example photographs. I’m really after inspiration for...

Panoramic Printing on an A3 Printer

Thanks for your comments guys. Has anyone else had any experience with printing large panoramics, and which system were they using to print them on?

Panoramic Printing on an A3 Printer

I've been struggling to find this out on here and the internet in general. On an A3+ printer what is the longest panoramic print size that you will be able to use? As an A3+ printer will have a width around 14 inches, will you be able to print a 12 by 36 inch panoramic?

    50D + 4 lens v's 5D mkii and 1 lens? help?

POAH I'd be suprised if any camera didn't suffer from considerable noise at the size you are viewing that picture. I had to reduce my browser to 20% to fit the image in!!!

    50D + 4 lens v's 5D mkii and 1 lens? help?

Have a look on http://www.dxomark.com, although they rate cameras the 50D, 40D and 500D with similar scores, there is an explanation on how the a higher pixel density camera will actually produce images of less noise when they are compressed down by the printer to the required size for printing.

    Does anyone know these prices?

Kevin Aperture is sellin the 5D for around £850 to 900 right now and mpbphotographic has the 17-40 for £400

    What monopod + head?

Sorry to hijack the thread a little, but do you really need to use a head with a monopod, doesn't it just make it more complicated?

    Wildlife Photography Around Cambridge

Thanks for this, I actually tried Linton Zoo yesterday and was the whole reason for this thread. I was really disapointed, they seemed to have a policy of caging all the animals with the smallest gague wire fencing possible. I will definatley try the other venues on you list. Usually I prefer to...

    Canon 40D, 50D or 1D MKII?

Thanks for all the advice, I'm just not sure about the 1Dmk2, the pixel density is the same as a 6.5MP on a x1.6 crop sensor. Will you really get better images on it than with the 50D? What size photo could you reasonably expect to print from it?

    Canon 40D, 50D or 1D MKII?

I've already got some nice glass, Canon 70-200 f4 and Sigma 180 f3.5 Macro. I will eventually get the 17-55 f2.8 or the 24-70 f2.8 dependant on which body I get. I just find the images come out a little soft quite a bit, as the AF on the 450D is a little on the slow side.

    Canon 40D, 50D or 1D MKII?

Hello Ali, I mainly shoot wildlife, birds and have recently started shooting macro and occasionaly use the camera for people. I shoot in RAW and process the images in lightroom, normally i would only print out up to A4, but the possiblity to go to poster size is useful.

    Canon 40D, 50D or 1D MKII?

I'm sure I have seen a similar thread on here before, but I can not get the search on here to work properly, so appoloiges for starting a similar thread again. I'm looking at upgrading my 450D, and would like to know which one of the above cameras you'd recommend from you own experience.

    Sigma 180mm f3.5 macro lens

Have a look on camera price buster, it looks like purely gadgets are still selling the lens for about £550 and still have some in stock.

How was this shot lit? A new challenge

Going to say two flashes, one to the right of the subject at around 45 degrees using a soft box to create a larger light source. I'd say a second flash was positioned behind the subject again positioned slightly to the right, as there is a slight shadowing just in front of the subjects right...
