I recently bought identical machine from dell outlet, but it had an odd almost smudge like patch inside the screen near the edge. Two weeks of phone calls to get Dell, reluctantly, to accept a return. Shame as was a great laptop otherwise.

How did you manage to get the Quidco and the reduced price ?. I am about to buy at that price via an email Adobe sent, but thought I had to do so via clicking the link in the email, thus getting no Quidco ? Thank you.

I'm also just starting having bought a macro lens, and in terms of f stop with that you need to be thinking f16+ or in the f20's to get a usable DOF. I imagine the same or more will apply with tubes. But yes, it does make a big difference. Then for light, start thinking flash.

Why would ISO matter ?. Surely the about of "wobble" by handholding is the same for whatever ISO just varies on shutter speed ?.

I used to (probably still do somewhere) have one of the copy anywhere type devices when memory cards were very expensive and I wanted to reuse the space whilst travelling. It did work, just very slowly, and I was never really 100% confident it had worked based on a few flashing LED's.

I have a 16gb as well but probably wouldn't bother rotating. In about 20,000 shutter clicks on my last camera that took compact flash a picture never failed. One 'Olympus' branded xD card failed on a different camera on me but I still got the pictures off ok just couldn't take any more. Download...

I bought one that arrived yesterday as it seemed like a bargain. Had a quick play in my camera last night and seemed to do what the camera spec says (burst of 15 at 5.X fps) and then clear the buffer reasonably quickly. Is there some way of testing the speed ?

Looks like a good use of HDR . A little perspective correction might help the photo though.

As well as the 70-200 ?. From a personal perspective I would think the TC would be better otherwise you are either going to have less flexibility or be carrying two very big lenses with you.

We need to know what lenses you have - but given the ones you mention your thinking of buying the answer is likely to be more lenses. And to make sure you can share the 7D more regularly than you use the 400D

Virgin do seem to have a crazy limit for hand luggage compared to other operators. Last time they insisted I take out my lens in its bag (which counted as a camera), and put a couple of books in my wifes hand bag to meet the limits. Then I put it all back the way it was before getting on the...
