Nikon 80-400 vs 300 with TC

Have to agree with everything Gary has said about the 80-400. Absolutely loved mine from the first pictures I took with it. To me it's very sharp and handles tricky light very well. I used to use a 70-300mm as my walk about lens and this really doesn't feel all that much bigger to handle. I'm...

    Nikon D7xxx owners thread

Thank you (y) Thanks I thought about it for a long time and couldn't find anything that ticked all my boxes like this does. I wanted quality and sharpness and it be light enough to mostly be hand held. I previously had a Sigma 150-500 but it was just too bulky and considered the new Tamron...

    Nikon D7xxx owners thread

Hi. Yep I'm using one. Only had it a week or so but pretty chuffed with it so far. I stepped up from a 70-300 VR and the difference is just what I'd hoped. ( Should be for the price I guess) I use it as a walk about lens and it feels just right. Some pics from the first couple of outings with...

    Storing a Sigma 150-500mm upright.

Thanks for the replies chaps. I hoped it would be ok. My concern was that unlike normal vertical storage with the body at the top instead my camera body would be at the bottom and be taking the full weight of the lens. Thought it might get crushed. Worrying over nothing I guess.

    Storing a Sigma 150-500mm upright.

Bit of help needed please. I've just got a Sigma 150-500mm to play with. It was a bit of an impulse buy, I'd never seen one in the flesh until it was delivered. It's a bit bigger than I thought so now I've run into a bag problem. Current bag is a Kata 3N1 20 which I quite like. After a...

Hello from not so sunny Devon.

Hi folks. After lurking for a little while it's time to say hello. Been messing with a Nikon D5000 for a year or so now and slowly getting the hang of things, although I still take a few hundred shots and hope there's a good one in there somewhere. Probably have one or two questions later...
