Cheapest editing screen, that you can rely on.

Ended up going for the Dell U2515H. The right balance of all my considerations to get by for now and then to use as a second screen or studio display screen when I can afford to upgrade. Thanks everyone!

Or saving the extra as I already have a Spyder 5 Pro.

Do you think not having wide gamut would be a problem when coming to print? Obviously it would be better, but it's not essential, right?

There's also the wide gamut Dell UP2516D (£350) and UP2716D (£420) - but most people seem to advise against wide gamut at this end of the market.

    OK. Close to a decision. Sort of. 24 Dell U24XXX - £200-300 (a few different models) Dell U2515H - £300 (2560x1440, bad idea on this size screen?) NEC EA245WMi - £320 27 Dell U2717D - £430 (2560x1440) NEC EA273WMi - £310 (1920x1080, bad idea on this size screen?) NEC EA275WMi...

Any recommendations for that end of the spectrum? Were you just using spyder software with inbuilt calibration, or were you using the spyder hardware device as well? Been looking at the Dell U2412M and U2717D, they seem to be pretty highly rated. Certainly an attractive option for the price.

I've looked at a few different articles similar to this, although not this one so will have a look shortly, thanks. I always like to get some more opinions from forums and reviews though!

I haven't got an allocated budget as such. All my budget is allocated elsewhere and this is an unexpected expense unfortunately. This is why my question was deliberately ambiguous, as I really want to know what people believe is the cheapest screen people personally feel would be worthwhile...

After noticing how much of a colour difference there is between the left and right hand sides of my screen, I urgently need a replacement. I really don't want to be spending any money right now, but as I am, I don't want to waste it on something that isn't fit for purpose. What are the...

    Equipment upgrade

Agreed, I think viewfinder will be the way forward. Everyone I've ever spoken to prefers it to live view so sure I'll get used to it soon enough. Have either of you used both the D750 and D810, is there that much difference in practice between the performance of AF for the two?

    Equipment upgrade

I always think with regards to ergonomics, I would prefer to get the best performing camera and just get used to it. Although, I will tkae a trip down Jessops just to have a feel and make sure it's not too bad to handle consdering the amount of money I'll be investing. D810 definitely seems...

Thanks, Craig. Definitely liking the look of the D750. Although, I have been reading that AF is slow in live view. I never use viewfinder but looks like I'm going to have to start!

    Equipment upgrade

Hi, I've been reading so much on options for new gear, but wanted to get some other people's suggestions to see whether it matches my ideas, or points out things I have missed. Currently I have a Sony NEX-6 but wanting to upgrade to something full frame. I was originally looking at the A7 or...
