Where do people store their photos online?

I have been using zenfolio for over a year. For the annual cost it is a nice looking site with various options to customise. Also, there is no upload limit. Downside is that you can't store images with them being viewable via the site.

    Sigma 10-20

And again, just sold mine: was gutted when I realised it wouldn't work on a full frame . It's a great lens and a replacement wide angle for full frame is going to be much more expensive. :'(

    New website crit please

Five images shouldn't normally take that long? Might be preaching to the knowledgeable (apologies if so), but have you uploaded low-res screen images?

    New website crit please

Took a while to load the home page, but once cached was fine. Looks good to me, nice combination and a good choice.

    MotoGP and the weather

Just got caught up watching the last few laps of the Donnington Park MotoGP. Despite our complaints, sometimes you just have to love the British weather: it makes the racing so much more interesting :). Seeing Rossi fall flat for once somehow gives me a warm feeling...

Isn't it a pain when you discover...

Sympathies. Also try driving 50 miles for long-exposure sunset shots over a wind farm only to discover on arrival that your tripod was still sitting by the front door. :bonk: Not only that but tog pal happily sets up and gets some great shots while you struggle hand held. :dummy:

    Tripod Advice

I have Gitzo legs (GT2540) and can't fault the build quality or stability. However, in my research I found lots of complaints about the Gitzo ball head so went a different, and more expensive, route for that. However, I have heard that there is a company called Benro who make carbon fibre...

Gitzo Ocean Traveler - Pre Use Review!

I'll second that one. I have a Gitzo with RRS ball head and can't fault the combination

    Sunrise help.

For me it's always a case of hit and miss: I generally set the alarm and check the sky. If it looks clear then I don't bother but if there's a few clouds around then I'll head out. Even if the sunrise isn't fantastic, clear early morning light on interesting subject matter can produce some...

Scotland... Post your Fav spot to shoot... looking for some new ideas!

I've only been to Skye and surrounds for one photography holiday but would recommend: Niest Point, great sun on the cliffs and over to the islands. Waterfalls at Glen Shiel Tarskavaig Bay overlooking the Cullin Old Man of Storr... big climb but worth it Torridon, Loch Maree for a really...

Has anyone else been a bit of a Muppet...

A landscape photographer who will remain nameless told me that he climbed a extremely large Scottish mountain one evening complete with camping gear etc. to wake early and capture the sunrise only to realise at the very top that he'd left his quick release at home.. he did say he will definitely...

Has anyone else been a bit of a Muppet...

Or set off from Suffolk and drive all the up to Norfolk for late evening sunset shots only to open the boot and recall leaning tripod by front door... not only that, fellow tog with full brain capacity getting great shots :bang:

    I think, therefore I am female :D

I have 24-105mm Lens... Can anyone recomend A filter system to get.

I have the Cokin Z system and am now using the 24-105mm on 5D mkII. However, on my old 400D I was recommended Z asn the P system wouldn't work with my Sigma 10-20mm so if you're thinking of getting a 17-40 might be safer with the Z.

    Up and Running!!!

Good site. Only comments would be that you're not making the most of the real estate.. use of only the central third or so leaves a lot of black. I would suggest bigger pics to do then justice and using left and right for info, e.g. on the "about" page there is little content but on my monitor I...
