I totally agree. With my old AE1 my rare good shots were greatly appreciated. My 'new' Sony A (2006) takes more good shots by accident than I do on purpose. :rolleyes:

I used film for 40 years as well. I remember the excitement of waiting to see those pics I thought would be great, and the crush of failure when they were usually disappointing. Digital is way more fun, but then I take way too many more. :rolleyes:

I love taking pictures, but it seems I save too many, as they often look alike. Am I doomed to be that guy who is a hoarder? Opinions/suggestions are always appreciated.

This, and as my Arthritis steals independence, it's one of the few things I can still enjoy.

I took this in the Everglades, in late 70s, with my AE1. I was about a foot from this Cottonmouth. My wife almost had a hissy fit. I know it's not a great shot, but it felt so cool to be so close;

Brazo mentioned a Minolta 50 mm 2.8 macro and I found one at a place I get used lens. It comes highly recommended. Will it work well with my Sony A100? I have read some reviews, and the price seems reasonable, but how easy is it to use? Do I still have to get within a foot for a Macro shot...

I know very little, so I don't really have a preference, I am onsidering this lens as learning situation.

Maybe 3-4, if I am lucky. I prefer to think they are complementing my prowess an virility, mumble something about squirrels, and say ''you're welcome.''
