Thanks Chris. When you say "set the polariser", do you mean you need to set the zoom, focus, and then rotate the filter so that it's the "right" way up (presumably the filter will be marked in some way to denote this)?

I'm also about to take the plunge on this lens having read some good reviews. One question though - does the end of the lens rotate when focussing, and if so would this cause a problem with using a circular polarising filter?
