500D with Tamron 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD

Thanks for the replies. The Tamron is about £850 new with 5 year warranty. The Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L Mark 2 is about £1,800 new there is a used one on eBay with 4 days to run at £1,100. I suspect that price will rise significantly over the next 4 days. There is a Canon EF 24-70mm...

500D with Tamron 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD

I have a 500D and a "Sigma 17-70 mm f2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM" as a general walkabout lens (I'm no pro so general use), I really don't like this lens much so was thinking of changing it. It's probable I will go FF later this year, so was thinking of investing in the Tamron 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC...

Canon 15-85 IS Vs. 18-55 IS.

Thanks for all the comments guys, I'm leaning toward the "Sigma 17-70 mm f2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM" at about £330 and thinking maybe save my pennies for a 10-22 (or similar later).

Canon 15-85 IS Vs. 18-55 IS.

Ideally I would like a slightly wider lens. I would also like IS to help in lower light situations. For example, I visited the SS Great Britain in Bristol yesterday. A slightly wider lens would have helped in confined spaces and IS would certainly have helped in the dark museum. I'm aware...

Canon 15-85 IS Vs. 18-55 IS.

I have a 500d which I am currently using with a non-IS 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens. I definitely want to replace my current 18-55 with an IS lens and would ideally like something slightly wider. The two obvious contenders (well to me anyway) are the "EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS MKII" at around £80...

    7dayshop Rucksack - Any good?

Thanks for all your comments guys. I agree better to pay a few extra pounds, although my kit is worth a lot less than yours (<£1K) :'( Anyway, hopefully the Lowepro I have now ordered will survive slightly longer! I would have been pleasantly surprised if it was as good quality as a more...

    7dayshop Rucksack - Any good?

I generally have the same view as you, I hate it when things just don't work. In this case I thought it's a bag what could go wrong!

    7dayshop Rucksack - Any good?

I bought the "7dayshop Photographers Rucksack" (see - here) loaded it with some of my gear and it's split internally, see image below. Is anyone using one of these successfully? If so, I will ask for a replacement. If not, I will stop being cheap and buy Lowepro or something! :D
