Oh, I get the appeal (kind of) - I just can't bring myself to use something which has been very carefully designed to be appallingly bad. I also fear that using it might put me off MF for life :p
I picked up a boxed Lomo 'Diana+' repro at the weekend from the local charity shop. Dear lord, what an utterly vile thing it is. I was toying with using it for a laugh, having never tried MF before, but I reckon I could put a crack in it just by looking at it the wrong way. The fact that someone...
I eventually managed to force open the battery compartment on my latest charidee shop find, and the space was jammed with powder from the 10-year-old batteries. Is it OK to blast some WD-40 in there to swab it out, or is there a risk of spray lube seeping into the main area and causing problems...
I haven't run a film through it yet, but everything seems to be moving freely. Even if there's a major fault with the body, I'm happy with the lens, bag and filters for that price :D
£4.99 from Age Concern last week - came with a really nice padded bag (which I'd have paid a fiver for on its own), a UV filter, and a remote shutter cable. I know it's 'only' a Praktica, but it made me happy!
Picked up a Weston Master 5 from a local charidee shop yesterday - battered case but the meter's in mint condition, and working well :)
However, I've since decided that I just won't do it justice, so it's up on a well known auction site
Not sure if it's of any interest, but a local charity shop has a Canon power-winder with its case for a fiver? Seems to be a little less than the going rate on eBay - if anyone wants it, I can pick it up and post it at cost.
RESULT!
There was indeed an extra lens on the viewfinder - it would never have occurred to me to try and remove it; as you say it doesn't stick out that much and looks like an integral piece! Fortunately, I hadn't started messing about with the insides yet  :$

Many thanks for all the responses!
I'm only guessing that the body is at fault, as it seems unlikely that all 5 lenses would be out of focus by similar amounts - I'll have a look at the focusing screen later on today, and give everything a good clean while I'm at it. If that fails, I'll keep an...
Having recently picked up a rather nice Nikon bundle comprising an F301 and lots of lenses and other bits (see the 'my new toy' thread) it transpires that none of the lenses will focus sharply, which I'm guessing means a knackered body. I seem to remember reading that the F301 was rated as...
I was very lucky actually, a friend of my parents heard I was dabbling in film and offered me the Paterson tank, then changed his mind and told me I could have the whole lot, on the condition that I didn't sell them on :) I'm fairly clueless with lenses, but I'll try and describe them: Vivitar...
By way of a second introduction (I came here many moons ago with a Praktica BCA, then got distracted... :sorry: ) I thought I'd mention the EOS300 that I picked up from a charity shop on Monday. I know they're not worthy of as much respect as the other hardware here, but hey, I like it!
There...
