Which photography youtube channels do you subscribe to?

I’ve been catching up on the photography online shows, which are very good, as I was planning to go up to Skye before the latest lockdown put the kibosh on it. I can’t help thinking that the December issue is just one hour long paid advert though. I suppose they’re limited to what they can do...

Photographing LONDON volume 1 Pre-orders available

The Peak District one is very good, so I've ordered this one, I get odd days when I can photograph London but I've started returning to the same spots as I don't get enough time to check out new locations.

Have You Ever Been Accosted In Such A Way During Street Photography

How odd is that? There must be 1000s of photographs taken on that stretch of the riverbank every day, yet if you put a tripod up you get harrassed. I had a security guard tell me to move on in our local shopping centre once when photographing the christmas lights with a low end canon. Went back...

The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

Another shout for Godox, a TT350 on the camera at low output as a trigger and a bit of fill, which feels nicely weighted on camera, with a TTL V860ii off camera with a soft box. Nice and flexible set up as you can bounce the V860 on camera when you need to move around quicker, or just use the...

Pay to shoot wildlife getting out of hand

I've used paid hides on a couple of occasions and I've felt both times that they have been expensive, but value for money (IMO). I went to Horn Mill a couple of years ago and the way I justified it was that if they weren't charging photographers then the ponds would all be netted over and the...

The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

Yeah, thanks. I didn't hear from them for a couple of weeks, so I thought it wasn't going to happen, then all of a sudden parcels and letters started arriving. I took the plunge today at LCE, traded my Canon 70d and 3 lenses for a new Sony 70-200 f4 and bought the Samyang 14mm with the money I...

The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

Had my A7iii, lenses, microphone, filters, Mavic Pro stolen a few weeks ago out my work van while in London, over 5 grands worth. Received a replacement A7iii yesterday through my personal belongings insurance, with the 28-70mm kit lens, and they replaced my second hand Canon 10-22 EFS with a...

The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

Had the work van broken into in London on Monday and the scumbags took my A7iii, plus filters, lenses, flash etc. I should be able to claim on our house insurance but until then I'm going to have to go back to the clunky old Canon 70D :(

    DSLR Motorised Slider

A bit late now if you've already bought the slider, but you could consider shooting a wider angle and then panning and zooming in software. If you shoot high res. pictures for a timelapse or video in 4k, downsizing to 1080p gives you quite a lot of leeway to zoom and pan without any further loss...

Drone Flights to 1000' above ground level now possible

On the plus side, if you take off from the bottom of a mountain, and keep to within 400ft of the slope, you could go all the way to the top, and still be only 400ft above ground level :)
