Wordpress gallery - live update from FTP?

Hi all! I've a job on Sunday where I'm going to be sending live pictures, which isn't a problem in the slightest as it's my day job however I'm not doing it for my usual agency. In the past when I've done it, I've just FTP'd from camera to a folder on my webspace that I've directed the client...

    Bloody Currys/PC world

I used to work for them back in the day when they were just PC World. I was in Customer Services/Tech side so dealing with returns, repairs etc. I particularly remember one lady coming in with an Epson printer, half hanging out the box along with the rest of it's contents, demanding a refund as...

minimum equipment requirement for EFL games.

All you're realistically going to sell from an EFL game these days is a goal or celebration so a single body and 70-200 would be fine. Small agencies might say the expect a 3 or 400 but that's only so you look the part ;)

    Irresponsible dog owners

My other half took our (large but stupidly friendly) staffie around London whilst I was working and got nothing but amazement from passers by at seeing a 'proper dog'. Lord knows what they'd be like if we took our Dutch Shepherd now!

Ryder Cup spectator blinded by golf ball

Yes that is indeed common sense, but what happens if someone still got hit.. not crossing the course doesn't equate to not getting hit. Not everyone is Tiger Woods, and shots do end up 'in the rough'.

How's that work when there's a public footpath across a course? Who has priority?

    Mojave

Mine installed overnight. Everything I need still works. It didn't show as an update though, had to do it manually via the App Store.

    Your first game/match

Ah the worst thing I had was a big bangy flare thingy at Iceland v Hungary during Euro 2016. Landed about 2ft behind me, thankfully it wasn't busy and I could move rather sharpish before it went off! Mind you, I wasn't going to be having words with the Hungarian ultras sitting right behind me.

Wage for a grassroots sports photographer?

As you say, it'll depend on their budget. Sadly though, if they're only grassroots then it's likely that the budget will be around zero. I might be wrong, but I can't think of anyone who earns anything from a non-league club in my local area.. they do it for the love of it, just like the tea...

Wage for a grassroots sports photographer?

You ought to expand your connections, I know a Championship club photographer on double that, and a League One who was on four times that!

    Alamy for sport anyone?

As an experiment over winter, when we had all the snow, I sent Alamy a few frames of my two pooches playing in a field. Got used in the Sun, quite small and I think I ended up receiving £35. Not bad for a 20 minute walk up the road I was doing anyway, and pretty much zero effort on my part aside...

    Non UK Auschwitz Advice

Indeed, with Płaszów concentration camp right next door too. Amon Göth's house and infamous balcony are also still there.

    Non UK Auschwitz Advice

Ah interesting, they must have added that caveat in recent years. If you're on the 7.10 bus from Krakow you should be there well before 10. The trains used to be uselessly slow but I think they've improved on that line and don't take much more than an hour either these days so arriving before 10...
