I'm thinking of chopping in my old 450 and buying a 40d as a second body. Although the 450 was my first camera so I have a slight attachment to it. It's still only done less than 10k shots as well! So I say 40d as an upgrade.

hmmmm, there is RAF Upwood, which is abandoned and you can get into the buildings. Although I believe the RAF still hold ownership so it may be a bit iffy. If I remember right you are only down the road from there, might be worth scoping it out?

I had to grab the camera... I shoot with my left eye, if I open my right then I get an eye full of camera/hand combination. Perhaps I will try with the right, it just doesn't feel 'right'.
