    Hello

Thanks muchly for the kind words. I'm in the phase of scouring websites and visiting photogear shops buying stuff that will get used on 30th of February, but probably not every year. Just today remote control appeared courtesy of Royal Mail, as if by magic. I like this. Shopping is fun. >8^)

Very grateful for taking the time to post this. If you have favourite charity (and it's not against forum rules) please post here as I'd like to put few pennies in as a thanks.

    Nikon D5300

lolprice compared to d7100. Never going to happen.

    Nikon D7000 on ebay

You were judged because you were, by your own admission, bidding on auction that you didn't have the money for. Everything else is the noise, including 'All sorted'. That is completely irrelevant. How can you not see that? In short; committing to a deal that you can't honour = a tool...

    Hello

My reason for all the other reasons. :)

Thanks for that, buttons; I understand, I HATE that i need to go into menus to change things. Body armour; what the hell are you doing with your cam? offensive weapon? :) Weathersealing; I'll ponder on that one, but can't see that as a big issue. I would love if 5100 had more buttons to...

As I'm just starting with d5100, which features of 7100 you found most important, what made you make a move, cause I'll probably do the same in couple of months/years. :)

Don't get this the wrong way, but, in my experience, people spend too much time worrying about fringe spec, that will mean grand total of fa in real world. As for usual spec just do google 5100/5200 vs 7000 and see if there are any dealbreakers. As for 'is the difference worth £100?' only...

Depends. Biggest difference for me would be how it feels in your hands. There is a £30 cashback for d3200 (none for d5100).

    Upgrade from a D3100 to a D5100

D5100 from SRS (Watford) £275. Lens from JL (their price £204 price matched to £149) from Bristol Cameras or something (check camerapricebuster for latest). Or maybe just ring few outfits and see if they are going to combine 18-105 instead of 18-55. HTH.

Got a list of 4 cameras to choose from help please

You can get d5100 for £275. Sits better, in my hands at least, than d3100. And sensor from d7000.

    Zoom lens for Nikon 3200

You are probably going to use one lens 95% of the time. Being in the same boat, I picked 18-105 instead of kit one and very happy with the purchase. For good review on lenses I'd suggest photozone.de (if not allowed to mention other sites, I'm asking mods to delete this msg).

    Upgrade from a D3100 to a D5100

I bought d3100 new and returned it after couple of days as I found that d5100 sits better in my hands. I like the fact that i can close the screen when not in use so that it's protected. also prefer not to have that horrible thing for LV on d3100. Sensor on d5100 is the same as highly regarded...

    Nikon D5xxx Owners Thread

Bought d5100 and 18-105 after playing with d3100+18-55. £400 all in (free battery). Very happy with purchase. Camera 'sits' in my grubby hands much better (can't rule placebo effect induced by spending more money) than d3100. Now on the hunt for tripod.

    Hello

And d3100 went back, only to be replaced by; 18-105 AF-S VR - Courtesy of JLP (price matched) and d5100 from very nice people at SRS in Watford. Polite and professional. :) Happy days.
