Thanks folks. She gets up close and personal with 99%of the bands. She's shooting steel panther in London in march so needs something for that as she has the chance of being published if they are good enough

Myself and my daughter are currently sharing her Nikon D3000 She takes a lot of photographs for bands and would like to start taking more live ones. I know that the D3000 isn't the ideal body for this but it's all she has at present so...... 1- can anyone recommend a lens for taking pictures...

Cheers. It's going to be a while before I post photos up I'm afraid as I'm disabled so don't get out much so most of my pics will be taken around the flat as I'm getting used to the cameras again

Thanks for the welcome. I'm not a complete novice...only to DSLR. I'm more out of practice where 35mm is concerned as I've not used a SLR camera since the mid 90's. I'll check the beginners section out though as it's probably going to be what I need. Many thanks for posting the links
