Nikon general purpose (I know, it's been done to death)

Thanks for all the replies, given me loads to think about. I'm very torn between grabbing another 17-50 Tarmon and the 16-85 Nikon, that range just seems much better than the 17-50's and If i'm using it during the day with would I need the 2.8? It has VR to help (I don't think I'd get the VR...

I've heard great things about that lens, but I think i'd be left wanting more reach... Always a trade off :(

Nikon general purpose (I know, it's been done to death)

I know this topic has been done to death but I'm just wonder how people have got on with these types of lenses. Since moving to Nikon I have acquire a 35 an 85 and a 150-600. Love them all, but... In a few weeks I will be starting to get out and about more, camping, going to National Parks...

    Nikon D7xxx owners thread

I got that offer! Love my D7200, moved from a Pentax system, still trying to memorise all the different button positions. I have never used the D7200 without the battery grip. I can hand hold the camera so much better with it on and when I have the Sigma 150-600 on it balances the weight nicely...

    Long timelapse help.

So my better half is planning to do a timelapse project at her school. She is wanting to create a timelapse of the changes to her classroom over a number of months. Are there any specialist (but not stupidly expensive) pieces of equipment that she could use for this? Specific cameras? I have no...

    Yungnuo flashes, confused. Which model?

Ahhh thanks So.. For the easiest set up I'd be looking for a flash I could use on the camera easily and quickly, no messing with things, so TTL. But then I could get some triggers to use it off camera (and this would be manual then?). Which Youngnuo would I be looking to get get then? Not the...

    Yungnuo flashes, confused. Which model?

I am going to jump into this conversation if I may Having the same issue... But don't really understand flash. I had a flash on my Pentax system but didn't really use it a lot but was nice to have for the odd shots. So now I'm with Nikon I want something cheap (as I won't use it loads), hence...

    Sigma 150-600mm contemporary

I've recently joined the 150-600 C club and I'm very impressed so far! I can actually use f6.3 at the long end, unlike on my 150-500 where f8 is a MUST! Here are a few images coupled with my new D7200. I really enjoy the 1.3x crop mode for even more reach when needed!! Pixel by Paul Webster, on...

    D7200 only shooting 2fps??

I have a Sandisk Extreme Pro :) I think I got it after a lot of messing. I altered the bracketing settings and now it will let me continuos shoot again. I have no idea why bracketing would limit this, my shots aren't bracketed in terms of exposure, I haven't even played with those settings yet...

    D7200 only shooting 2fps??

I have just made the switch from Pentax to Nikon and am enjoying using my D7200, although, for some reason on continuos high mode it will only take 2 shots then stops, requiring me to release and press the shutter again for another two... ??? I've had a look through the menus and can't seem to...

    Get a grip!

I was just pondering about when you buy a new grip from Nikon. Are they kind enough to include a battery with it, or is it just the grip? That is all really! Cheers if someone can clear this up for me :)

Tamron SP 150-600mm F5-6.3 DI IF VC USD

I think I'm going to go APS-C, good deal on a D7200 with a free grip at the moment, I definitely would be wanting a grip anyway so seems like a bit of a saving...
