I can see no situaton where a fixed prime will win out over a zoom ..set it to fixed length if you must ..

Dont forget to think about the wide option 10mm in your case ..you often find you cannot get far enough away to get in all you want so a 10-20 sigma might be worth looking at . In my opinion if you are looking at 18-xxx zooms then going over 150mm pushes them a bit and the quality drops...
