There is a big line on all my photos, reminds me of a crack in the windscreen!

So I was originally looking because I thought my camera was broken. I don’t know if it’s just dirty but I don’t know any camera shops I can take it to find out. Once I started thinking about it I got all excited about a fancy new camera instead! I’ve seen a new 77D which is just over £600...

Having a quick look at prices, I think the XDs and XXDs might be out of my price range. I would prefer to buy new if possible. Has canon followed their numbering pattern at all ie is a XXXD better than a XXXXD? Is a 250D better than a 400D?
