    FA Cup as club photographer

My non-league club played at Bradford City in the FA Cup some years ago. I have a club licence, club secretary sorted things as usual, no problem at all.

    Is that a sport?

Wage for a grassroots sports photographer?

Don't hold your breath. Most non-league clubs depend on volunteers. Your best option might be taking pics, selling them to parents etc by making them available online.

Exporting watermarked images - which quality to export in?

I use Zenfolio, upload original size file, offer different download or print size options, apply a watermark for the web gallery. Job done. Much easier than messing around with PS or other stuff, which I once did.

    Beginner Camera servicing

If you use your camera at LOT, as a busy sports photographer might, you might want to get it checked over annually. If you are a typical hobby photographer, its probably not necessary. I had a camera shutter mechanism go after a LOT of use, and got it repaired. Other than that, you probably...

    Settings for sports photography

There's no 'best' settings, it depends on the sport, the lighting, the level of the game etc etc. For football, its not just about the settings, its also about the viewpoint and the 'decisive moment' which is a skill you learn as you do more. Post some of your efforts.

    Drummer with backlit flour cloud

Hi. Thanks for the info. In the end, the venue was a basement of a music shop way too small to muck about with flour, barely enough room to put the lights up and get the drummer in. Anyhow, the flour will come in useful! I like the idea of baby powder, but hate the smell of it! The group is an...

    Tiring

Sod the local rag. If they print a pic, its in the recycling the following day. I won't give away to the press for free, credit or otherwise. 1. I don't want to put their few remaining snappers out of work, 2. if its good enough, its worth paying for. End of.

How to meter at zoom Distances without on board meter ?

Intrigued by what camera you are using. Digitals offer different metering options, spot, evaluative, centre-weighted etc. You have exposure compensation. You can bracket. You can shoot raw. If you are worried about some bits of the scene being under or over exposed by the reading, take several...

    Passport pictures

I did mine at one of those booths, £5 and several 'attempts' to choose from. Best passport pic I have had in years! Last time got them done at some "photographers" place, absolute rubbish!

    Drummer with backlit flour cloud

Hi. I've got a mate with a band who wants some pics. One idea is that moody drummer shot with the clouds of flour, and I can remember a chap I used to work with had someone do that for him. Any hints about the best way to achieve it? I've got 2 flashheads and softboxes, or alternatively 3...

    Luton town parking

Hope you get something suitably near. Nightmare. When I went there, this was a view of the road leading up to were the coach parked, and I had to sign in. http://photodiva.zenfolio.com/p318404695 (second to last pic in the gallery)

    Luton town parking

Been there a couple of times in the past several years ago. There is/was a car park at the club for the team coach etc. Can you possibly get a pass for that? The whole place is a nightmare, steep concrete steps down to the pitch, can only shoot from behind the goal line, etc. I hated lugging my...
