Best advice i can give you is take your time. For indoor low light then i would say your 50 1.8 is going to be your best bet

I feel for you Graeme, last Saturday i left my Nikon D700 and lens behind on a walk in the woods. Thought i had put everything in the car, but i must of left on the side or somewhere. I was honest with my Insurance company (Natwest) and now i'm just waiting for my money.
