    Bargain 60D

I agree totally with this line of thought. In response to the 'profiteering' claims.... surely this would only be the case if both body and lens are sold at 'normal' rate. To keep the 'bargain-cheap' lens and sell body at 'normal' rate..... or keep the 'bargain-cheap' body and sell lens...

Am I missing something..... aren't you an hour too late? :bonk:

    SD card for Panasonic G2

This http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/12761854/Samsung-16GB-SDHC-Plus-Memory-Card-Class-6/Product.html would probably be better, as it's class 6, but unsure if the £17.99 price tag is a bank holiday special

    40d fps dropped massively?????

In other words 'Have you tried switching it off and switching it back on again' It was bound to work

    Memory ok?

As far as I'm aware, yes, they are the same, both being 20MB/s class 6. And, coincidentaly, just as I was typing this reply, the postman just delivered mine, ordered from Play... the 30MB/s edition Extreme III . And they are, just that :clap::clap: £13 each (although I've just...

Did you find out anything more on this, Janice? Just ordered myself an EOS adapter on a whim, but then realised I didn't know the answer to your question above :bonk: Edit: Just googled it..... you set the desired aperture on the canon, and remove lens whilst holding the DOF-preview...

    Canon EF 50mm 1.8 or 85mm 1.8

Good advice given on this thread. Back to your original question, though....I have all 3....40D (crop, obviously) 50mm f/1.8 and 85mm f/1.8 .... I myself am finding I use the 50mm more than the 85mm, as has already been pointed out the 85mm is generally a little too long on a crop sensor...

    17-40 f4 L Vs Tamron 17-50 f2.8 vc

More expensive? It's only just under twice the price (of the Tammy)

    Canon fit Tamron 17-50mm

To add to this point....I had the same predicament with the ef-s 15-85mm. I got the impression that, although not as fast, IQ is near to that of ef-s 17-55mm. But again....the lens is so new, these are unlikely to come on the second-hand market just yet.

Thanks, Simon..... took a read of the thread referred to in post #2 above and have noted your input into that thread

    Where to buy lens?

This is why I wasn't aware of a VC version.....CPB have the non-VC version listed only....yet the prices appear to be a mixture of the two  Ooops....should have quoted post #2 (regarding using CPB for price comparisons)......sorry for any confusion.

S'OK.....just opened up the full thread that the post was made in.....I see now that simplyelec may not be the best place to go to.

    Canon fit Tamron 17-50mm

cheers,...I'll have a read of that thread, methinks. Indeed, whilst I've been keeping my eye out for the lens, second hand, I wasn't aware of the VC version at all.....hence my original post.....the non-vc version seems to come up very rarely....and as I found, the fact that the vc version...

    Canon fit Tamron 17-50mm

Hi all, I've heard good things about the Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II and read that it's a realistic option for those unable/unwilling to spend the extra on a Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 IS. So I thought I'd whittled down my choice of lens to pursue next. But after a bit of research, I now see...
